Lobster was inspired by the glamorous poolside culture of Palm Springs and the dreamlike quality of long, sun-soaked afternoons. Set against a glowing desert backdrop, the painting combines vintage-inspired figures, playful details and a curvaceous pool that became the centrepiece of the composition.
The unexpected appearance of a Dalmatian and a bright red lobster adds a touch of surrealism, transforming an everyday holiday scene into something more imaginative. For me, Lobster is about escapism, sunshine and the simple pleasure of slowing down in a beautiful place.
