RHINO - SIGNED LIMITED EDITION PRINT

Rhino is my second print release of 2026 - a large-scale edition (63 × 63cm image size) produced in a small edition of just 10, plus 2 Artist Proofs.

Each print is hand-finished with real silver leaf and raspberry silver leaf, making every piece slightly unique. The skies are individually painted, so each collector will receive their own subtly different moonlit atmosphere.

The painting was inspired by a magical evening in Spain last summer. My children and I watched the August full moon rise pink above the Port Lligat headland while music drifted across the water and boats gently moved in the harbour. People gathered along the shoreline sipping cold drinks and eating ice creams as the moonlight shimmered across the sea.

Later that night I photographed the campsite pool under the moon using my tripod. Back in the studio the scene slowly evolved and a rhinoceros appeared.

The rhino felt like the perfect presence for this piece. Symbolising strength and wisdom, it’s also an animal that fascinated Salvador Dalí, who incorporated it into works such as Celestial Ride. The creature also famously appears in Albrecht Dürer’s 1515 woodcut Rhinoceros - an extraordinary image created entirely from written descriptions, as Dürer had never actually seen the animal himself.

I love that sense of imaginative freedom.

With this month filled with moons and eclipses, it felt like the perfect moment to release this print.
