When I was in Florida, I took the most magical tour of the Everglades. It was swampy, remote, and alive with all kinds of wild beauty – a place that felt both timeless and otherworldly.
I wanted to capture that sense of wonder by using the Everglades as a surreal backdrop, fusing figures into the landscape in a way that makes sense… but also doesn’t.
The bright pink spoonbills, native to Florida, became the perfect companions for this scene – their colour and movement felt like they belonged in my world of playful, dreamlike storytelling.
Spoonbills is about stepping into a strange, beautiful space where reality blurs and imagination takes flight.
