Desert Flower was inspired by my time in Palm Springs, a place that has become a rich source of inspiration for my paintings. During my visit I photographed countless pools, hotels and desert landscapes, but one particular flower-shaped pool stayed with me long after I returned home.
 
I wanted to capture the feeling of a dream escape; a sun-drenched oasis where time slows down and the outside world fades away. The painting combines elements from my own photographs with vintage imagery, bringing together different moments and memories into a single imagined scene.
 
The group gathered by the pool, alongside the unexpected detail of a lobster platter, adds a touch of glamour and playful surrealism.
 
With its luminous sky, swaying palms and turquoise water, Desert Flower celebrates the fantasy of the perfect holiday and the enduring allure of the desert oasis.
