Divers is a simple and timeless compostion capturing the familiar feeling of waiting for your turn to dive on a long, sunny afternoon. It's about the ritual itself: the way we line up, nervous and excited, toes curled over the edge, soaking up the heat of the day. 
I wanted to keep this painting clean and uncluttered, letting the vivid colours and strong shapes tell the story. There’s something so nostalgic about diving boards - those moments of hesitation, bravery, and exhilaration - bathed here in bright turquoise water, golden reflections, and a sky that feels endless. 
Divers has been painted using oil and acrylic on canvas and was created especially for my exhibition Endless Summer at Saltdean Lido, part of Brighton’s Artists Open Houses Coastal Trail.
