ENDLESS SUMMER

Endless Summer at Saltdean Lido is part of the 2025 Artist Open Houses Festival

Endless Summer is my most personal collection to date - a vibrant body of work created specifically for the iconic Saltdean Lido as part of Brighton’s Artists Open Houses Coastal Trail.

These paintings celebrate the joy, memory and rebellion of British seaside culture. They’re inspired by real stories from the Lido’s past like the ladybird invasion of '76, knobbly knees contests at the Ocean Hotel, and recordings from former lifeguards and swimmers who shared their memories through Saltdean’s Heritage Hub.

Each piece explores that first-day-of-holiday feeling, the rituals of leisure, the colour and heat, the cheeky rule-breaking, and the deep connection we have to places that hold our memories.

This show has been years in the making - imagined, manifested, and painted in the wake of personal change. I’m thrilled to share it now in a space that means so much to me, and I hope the work brings a little sunshine and escapism to everyone who visits.

The work will be available to view at Saltdean Lido on the following weekends in May 2025, as part of the Brighton Artists Open Houses Coastal Trail - 3/4, 10/11, 17/18, 24/25 - 10am-4pm
