Artist to Take Part in May 2017 Artists Open House

Twice a year artists and makers open their houses and studios, providing art lovers the chance to browse and buy original artwork direct from the artist. With a focus on quality and value for money, the Artists Open Houses festival aims to bring a dynamic mix of arts and crafts to the widest possible audience, providing visitors and viewers with engaging and inspiring experiences.

Ruth has been working on the images and creative direction for her first solo show in 2017 to be held as part of the Brighton Artists Open House on Brunswick Square, Garden of Earthly Delights. The name for Ruth’s up-coming show pays homage to the early Netherlandish master Hieronymus Bosch’s triptych painting of the same name.

For many, this masterpiece represents a futile exercise in deciphering the undecipherable, a universe of titillation and exotic entities. Using a sprinkle of comedy and a pinch of the surreal, Ruth has already penned a couple of working titles for her new offerings, including Cheetahs in Ibiza and Sinatra's House. With an image-hungry appetite to mix fictional creatures with women playing and splashing in pools and on mountainsides, Ruth continues to capture the pleasure of life in its fullest, in all its magnificent, colourful glory.
